5th year ART - DNSEP

The 5th year completes the 2nd cycle of higher art education studies. It corresponds to the acquisition of a full autonomy that heralds the transition between the status of a student and that of an artist. This 5th year is the finalization of the cursus followed within the school and which is concluded by taking the DNSEP (Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique) equivalent to a Master 2 level diploma.
5th year ART: objectives
The objectives of the 5th year ART are to:
- recognise the qualities of the art work produced by the student since the 4th year AR;
- recognise the abilitiy of the student to conceptualise and verbalise their research;
- push the students project, begun during the 4th year, towards reaching its full potential of quality art work and to confirm the autonomy of the students' work;
- finalise the theoretical research to be presented in the form of a written thesis for the DNSEP.
5th year ART: course programme
The ensemble of the course offered during the 5th year ART take into consideration:
- the thesis seminar;
- tutoring;
- the Show-offs;
- project monitoring;
- the brain-storming workshop;
- the ARC (Ateliers de Recherche et de Création);
- the seminars, theory classes and Workshops;
- the research programme.
The evaluation of the 5th year ART takes place at the end of semester 9 and is a prerequisite to taking the end of year final diploma examinations.
